Father, I am very guilty and you should be disappointed
I had the time to write this but I delayed the appointment.
I beseech you to forgive me...I know you already have
And that is why I thank God everyday you are my dad
You are a man of compassion, affability, and grace
A Father that stands steadfast and adjudicates every case
A Father who grew to understand the meaning of Love
One who is dauntless, yet having the gentle spirit of a Dove
You are honest and genteel, and you eschew fear
You telephone me everyday and prove to me that you care
Sometimes I look at you and all I do is smile
Because you have a tendency to grow gray hairs before your time……..
Yes you worry, having my best interest in mind
I truly love you and I believe you are one of kind
I have one request and that is for you to promise me this
Place it in the envelope of your heart and forever seal it with a kiss
No matter how far I am, never you think or doubt we’ll ever depart
Because my Father in heaven told me that a son and a father are two souls with one heart!
